Even though this webpage was meant to showcase Lata Mangeshkar songs, it seemed such a shame to miss out on the few remaining
songs from this movie. So here are they are:
zindabad ai mohabbat zindabaad
This is the only song sung by Mohammad Rafi in the movie and it was not sung by Dilip Kumar on screen. However, it was an
emotional scene and Mohammad Rafi excelled in his rendition.
prem jogan ban ke mai chali
shubh din aayo jag ujiyaaraa
Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan is well known as a classical singer and he had no desire to sing in movies. However, Naushad desparately
wanted him to sing his composition and asked him over and over. As Naushad told the story in a TV interview Ustad Ji decided
that the only way to get rid of Naushad was to demand an outrageous fee and he did but Naushad agreed to pay it. At that point
Ustad Ji had to give in and sing the 2 songs for Naushad. That was a coupe since no one else had been able to persuade Ustad
Ji to sing in a movie. The songs are definitely classical in style.
